Award: Labour Market Assistance Industry Award 2010

Level: Training and Placement Officer Grade 2

 

Objectives

 

  1. To assist job seekers with disabilities to find and keep ongoing viable employment
  2. To assist employers to include workers with disabilities in their workforce

 

Relationships

 

  • Report to the Employment Services Manager
  • Provide assistance to job seekers, worker and employers
  • Active team participation with co-workers

 

Duties

 

Job Seeker Planning and Support

  • Establish achievable goals for ongoing employment
  • Identify assistance required to find and keep work
  • Assist job seekers to find and keep work
  • Maintain regular contact with job seekers
  • Refer job seekers to training and other services when appropriate

 

Job Searching

  • Contact employers and persuade them to employ our job seekers
  • Promote Job Focus to employers with a view to securing suitable employment opportunities for job seekers
  • Assist employers with job design, recruitment and workplace modifications

 

On-site Training and Support

  • Provide on the job training and support to workers as required
  • Assist and support employers to successfully include our clients in their workforce

 

Maintenance Support

  • Maintain regular ongoing contact with workers and their employers
  • Provide ongoing assistance and advice to workers and their employers as required to maintain or enhance employment

 

Other Duties

  • Participate constructively as a team member to sustain and develop Job Focus
  • Administrative duties
